Introducing… me
I’m Amy Nomvula, founder of innate creates.
Growing up in a non-diverse rural space as a mixed-heritage Black girl (love to Zim) was ‘complicated’. Storytelling in all forms helped me feel better connected to the world around me but at a very young age I was able to spot that some voices were given more space than others.
Fast forward. Following a few years working as a broadcaster and producer across different sectors of the media landscape and continuing to see lots of potential for positive change, I started dreaming up innate creates.
innate creates is a production project with a focus on amplifying underrepresented voices within events creation & curation and audio storytelling. Also, importantly, it is looking to support the development and progress of underrepresented voices behind the scenes.
The aim of innate creates is to build and grow a more inclusive cultural space with projects that engage, uplift and inspire whilst stretching the possibilities of storytelling.
I have stacks of experience in broadcasting, hosting, facilitating, workshopping, mentoring, producing and delivering tailormade content & events.
The motivations that underpin innate creates are lifelong cares. I love sharing community upbuild chats and actions in the daytime and, with whatever time’s left, there’s every chance you’ll find me in the music… whether out DJ’ing or getting lost in someone else’s sounds.
